Pricing

Free for merchants. On purpose.

No setup fee, no monthly fee, no minimum, no contract. Shoppers pay a 3% app service fee inside the app’s prices, and that is what builds, submits and runs your app.

What the 3% pays for.

It is not a licence fee on software you then have to run yourself. It is the whole job, for as long as the app is live.

Where the money actually goes.

Your website prices do not change and you keep your full price. The fee sits inside the app’s prices only, added by a Shopify price list on the app’s sales channel — so Shopify charges it, shows it and passes it on, and a refund refunds it too.

On $25,000 of app sales in a month, the service fee your shoppers paid comes to $750, and your $25,000 is yours. Shopify’s own transaction and payment fees apply to app orders exactly as they do to website orders.

The two costs that are not ours.

Apple and Google charge for the developer accounts your app is published under. Those accounts are yours, in your name, which is the right way round — you own the listing, the reviews and the customers. We do the work inside them.
